We are the Kansas (Girasol) Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. As an extension of our parent organization, we exist to…

1. Promote the study and teaching of the Spanish and Portuguese languages and their corresponding literatures and cultures at all levels of education in the state of Kansas.
2. Encourage, support, and direct programs and projects that serve Kansas language education, language teachers, and language students.
3. Connect teachers and students in the State of Kansas to cultures where Spanish and Portuguese are spoken.
